Stanislaus County residents and agencies, including Turlock City Hall, Turlock Police Department, and the Stanislaus County Jury Commissioner’s office were impacted by an AT&T outage Tuesday morning.
According to spokesperson Caden Harris, AT&T was “working to restore home telephone and internet service to affected customers in the … area following damage to our network caused by a third-party contractor.”
Residents using AT&T for home internet services also were met with outages over the course of the day. County residents attempting to contact companies and agencies affected by the outage were met with a dead line.
Stanislaus Regional 911 emergency dispatch services, including 911, remained fully operation and were not affected by the outage.
“We are hopeful services will be restored by the open of business (today), though some impacts may continue as systems come back online,” the county said in a statement. “We appreciate your patience and understanding.”
At press time, the county's website remained unavailable; online payment processing and some internal systems remain inaccessible; some locations may also experience slow intermittent service; phone services may be impacted in certain county facilities.
Stanislaus County Library branches remain open, though some online services may be affected.
The Merced Police Department also posted on its Facebook page to inform Merced County residents that it was experiencing issues with 911 calls through the AT&T network.
