Julia Aiko Ohki, a longtime resident of Livingston, California, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2026, just weeks shy of her 104th birthday.

Julia was born on June 29, 1922, in Fresno, California, and grew up surrounded by her family's strawberry fields. After graduating from Roosevelt High School, she attended Fresno State. When her family was sent to the Amache War Relocation Center in Colorado during World War II, she remained committed to her education, ultimately earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.

At the center of Julia's life was the home she built with her husband, Robert. Together, they were the heart of a close-knit family that loved to laugh. Julia raised five children and found great joy in watching her family grow through the generations.

Julia's thoughtful and curious nature was reflected in the many interests she pursued throughout her life. She enjoyed practicing tai chi and treasured the years she and Robert spent traveling together in their RV. An avid reader, she was particularly drawn to poetry and writings that explored spirituality, mindfulness, and personal growth. She also loved to write, sharing her stories, humor, and life lessons with others. Julia was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Livingston, where she found friendship, purpose, and a strong sense of community.

Julia will be remembered for her kindness, resilience, and attitude of gratitude. She faced life's challenges with grace and never lost her appreciation for learning, laughter, and the people she held dear. Her life touched many, and her legacy will live on through her family and all those fortunate enough to have known her.

Julia is survived by her four children, Janis Wood, Karen Philson, Michael Ohki, and Maryann Ohki; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren, all of whom were blessed by her love, wisdom, and curiosity. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Ohki, and her son, Arnold Ohki.
