The goal of keeping hearts healthy in the local area has gotten a boost with the opening of Emanuel Cardiovascular Associates, a specialty medical group founded by three cardiologists.

The cardiologists launching the practice are Dr. Oussama Dagher, Dr. Reza Nazari and Dr. Yohannes Gebreegziabher.

“I’m thrilled to announce the opening of Emanuel Cardiovascular Associates,” said Dr. David Canton, Emanuel’s vice president of medical affairs. “The addition of these outstanding doctors, the specialty practice of cardiology will help us continue to meet the growing medical needs of Turlock-area residents.”The new practice is one of a series of steps Emanuel is taking to bring advanced cardiac care to the community. The hospital opened its Cardiac Cath & Interventional Lab in April, bringing a number of advanced surgical and noninvasive procedures to Turlock for the first time. Over 500 invasive and noninvasive procedures a month are being performed in the hospital’s new addition. In addition, cardiac surgery will begin next spring in a newly renovated operating room.  Concurrently, construction of two state-of-the-art cardiac operating suites is underway and scheduled to open in late 2012.
