OUT FOR A RUN
horse

A horse that was spotted running free on the highway Wednesday morning has been reunited with its owner.

Around 9 a.m. Wednesday Turlock Animal Shelter was contacted about the horse, which had been seen running on northbound Highway 99, near the Lander Avenue exit.

Animal control officers found the horse on E. Glenwood Avenue and were able to corral it and take it to the animal shelter.

The shelter posted the lost horse on Facebook and almost immediately was contacted by the owner. The horse was micro-chipped and returned home.
