TURLOCK FIRE CALLS: Oct. 27-30

— Around 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 27, the Turlock Fire Department sent out Engine 31, Squad 32 and a battalion chief for a report of pedestrian struck by a vehicle on Lander Avenue, near Fifth Street.

The pedestrian had sustained a head injury and was taken by an air ambulance to a local hospital.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the Turlock Police Department’s investigation.

— Engine 31 responded to a report of a truck that drove through a garage in the 3000 block of Cajon Court around 3:40 p.m. on Oct. 30.

The driver said she pulled into the driveway to turn around and that her brakes failed, causing the truck to crash through the metal rollup garage door and into the garage.

The driver, nor the family at the residence, reported any injuries from the crash.

To try and minimize any further damage to the house, the firefighters cut the door panels off with a mini cutter to get the truck out of the structure.

— Shortly before 8 p.m. on Oct. 31, Engine 31, Engine 33 and a battalion chief responded to Golden State Boulevard and Dels Lane for a pedestrian who had sustained injuries after being struck by a vehicle. The injuries were not considered life-threatening. The driver remained at the scene and was cooperating with Turlock Police officers.
