Twice the ice

Jared Wright helps little one Adeline skate at the Fields of Ice skating rink while Matt Webb skates along beside them.

Ice skating is back and in full swing for the second year in a row at Fields of Ice, but now there is twice the ice.  With a rink 120 feet by 80 feet, locals of all ages can rent some skates and hit the rink.

“People were so responsive last year and even more so this year,” said co-owner Karen Macedo.

“There’s been a lot of excitement,” added husband Ron Macedo.

This year there is also a food truck which offers pizza, corndogs, hot chocolate and more.

Each weekend Saturday and Sunday in December there will be photographs with Santa from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Week day pricing per two-hour session for children ages 3 to 12 is $8, and adults $10. Weekend and holiday pricing for a two-hour session is $10 for children and $12 for adults.

The rink is located at 716 N. Daubenberger Dr. in Turlock and operates daily from  10 a.m. to 10 p.m., with sessions every two hours, through the holidays until Jan. 19.
