Anne Shaw, 80, of Turlock, CA passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, December 13, 2014. Born in Oronogo, Missouri August 27, 1934 to Carroll and Maude Weathers, she spent much of her childhood in Bisbee Arizona before her family moved to Los Angeles following the death of her father. There, She graduated from Manual Arts High School, and attended college at Bob Jones University in South Carolina, where she began dating Donald Shaw. They married in 1955, and settled in Turlock in 1962 after Donald had completed his Masters at UCLA .  

After moving to Turlock, Anne worked as a secretary for a few local businesses before her passion for education led her to employment by the Turlock Teacher’s Association, and later by the California Teacher’s Association at its Stanislaus County office. After leaving CTA in 1982, she remained active as a free-lance word processor, operating Anne’s Word Processing for a decade until her retirement. She enjoyed knitting, needlework, reading, musicals and collecting cat figurines. She also had a keen interest in local politics and educational policy. 

Anne is survived by her husband Donald Shaw; children Eric (Linda Lenards) Shaw of San Francisco, Jeffrey Shaw of Alameda, and Suzanne Shaw-Quinton of Modesto; and eight grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her beloved son Lawrence Evan Shaw in 1982, her brother Carroll Weathers Jr., and sister Dorothy Herbert.

Visitation will be on Sunday, December 21, 2014 from 3pm - 5pm at Allen Mortuary.

Funeral services will be on Monday, December 22, 2014, 1pm at also at Allen Mortuary.
