Mrs. Poortarvirdi passed away at the age of 54 on Thursday at Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock. A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17 at the Assyrian Evangelical Church in Turlock.
Mrs. Poortarvirdi was born in Iran to Yeprem and Nargez on June 9, 1955. She settled to Turlock 10 years ago. She was a beautician for 20 years and belonged to the Assyrian Evangelical Church in Turlock.
Arnik is survived by her husband, Vazgin Simonyans of Turlock; her children, Edik Simonyans of Turlock, and Rita Simonyans of Los Angeles; siblings, Albert Pourtaverdi of Turlock, Carmen Ratgoian, Karlin Mardirous and Linda Eskandary; and mother, Narqez Pirehpour.
