Carlos Rivas, 55, was born Oct. 10, 1956, in Mexicalli, Baja California, Mexico. He immigrated to the United States at the age of 12 years old. He attended Volta Elementary and Los Banos Jr. High. He returned to Tepic, Nayarit, Mexico in 1972 with his family. There he met his wife of 39 years. A year later he returned to the United States with his wife and first child to the city of Los Banos. He began his career as a mechanic at New Hall Ranch in El Nido. This skill later became his passion along with the love he had for his family and grandkids.  

Carlos is survived by his wife, Silvia Rivas; sons, Adrian Rivas, Carlos Rivas, Jr. and Danny Rivas; daughter, Angie Magallanes; and four grandchildren. 

A Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 17 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Los Banos.
