Carol L. Dutra, 82, of Denair, passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2016. Carol was born February of 1934 in Minneapolis to William and Esther Prehm and lived in Washington before settling in Hilmar, CA. She met Elmer Dutra at a Portuguese Festa dance and they were married in September of 1951 in Carson City, Nevada. The couple lived in Turlock when their three children were born. 

Carol was a housewife and enjoyed entertaining, dancing, camping, and fishing. She was a sports fan of the San Francisco 49ers, Giants and Sacramento Kings. She loved Joe Montana, Steve Young, and Colin Kaepernick; who she was very proud of and had hoped to meet someday.

Carol is survived by her son Albert Dutra Sr. (Connie) and daughter Dorothy Shuping, all of Denair, sister Shirley Foster (Jim) of Modesto, and brother Lester Prehm (Kathy) of Arkansas, 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 1 great great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by her husband Elmer Dutra and daughter Deborah Dutra Long.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 8, 2016 from 5pm – 7pm at Allen Mortuary. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2016, 11am at Turlock Memorial Park.
