Caroline Elaine Deering went home to be with the Lord on April 15, 2016. Caroline was born in Modesto, CA to Mr. Eugene and Gertrude Popejoy.  Caroline attended First Christian Church of Turlock. She was a humble homemaker, She loved to watch John Wayne movies. Her favorite color was purple. She enjoyed embroidery and quilting. She liked camping and day trips. When the music was on, she could be found on the dance floor. She had a sense of humor and a smile to light up the room. She loved spending time with her best friends Ruth and Sherman Walner. Caroline was always happy and eager to give a loving hug.

She is survived by her two daughers Teddy E. Deering and Caroline A. McGowen and husband Derek McGowen, and her only son Buhl Albert Deering and ten grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Norman Popejoy, sister Nora New and husband Brian New.

She is preceded in death by her parents Eugene and Gertrude Popejoy, her sister Charlotte Popejoy and grandson Ted Daniel Deering Jr. 

Visitation will be on Thursday, April 28, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Allen Mortuary in Turlock. A Funeral Service will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, April 29, 2016 at First Christian Church of Turlock. Please show your love to Caroline by wearing the color purple at the funeral service.
