Doris was born in Santa Rosa, Calif., the daughter of Hubert and Eppie Comstock.  

She was a graduate of the University of the Pacific.  Doris taught for 30 years in the Ceres Unified School District, primarily at Caswell School. She was a charter member of the Persephone Guild in Ceres, and a member of the Ceres First United Methodist Church.  She was a lover of gardening, baking and her great grandchildren.

She leaves her son, Ray and his wife, Patsy; grandchildren, Kevin, Robin (Todd) and Ray Jr.; and great granddaughters, Caitlin, Hannah and Lauren. She was preceded in death by four sisters, two brothers and her husband, Arendt Rohde.  

Remembrances may be made to Hospice of Emanuel and the American Diabetes Association.

A memorial service will be held 11a.m. on Monday, Oct. 18 at the Turlock Funeral Home Chapel.
