Dorothy H. Brown passed away on November 22, 2011, at The Homestead Assisted Living in St. Anthony, Idaho. She was 91.
Dorothy was born in Denair, California, in 1920. She attended school in Denair and upon graduation from high school went to Business College in Modesto. In 1940 she married Robert H. Lankard and they had two children, a daughter and a son. They were later divorced. In 1966 she married Burt H. Brown, and they were married until his death in 2004.
Dorothy was a lifelong member of the Quaker Church, as were her ancestors who joined the faith in Ireland in the early 1800s. She loved music and was an accomplished pianist and organist. She enjoyed watching sporting events in person and on television. Because of her hearing loss she became very adept at email which she continued until a few months ago.
She is survived by her sister Dona Jorgensen of Valencia CA, her sister-in-law Rosadene Harmon of Palo Alto CA, two children, Judy (Fred) Dewey of Egin ID and Tom (Ann Job) Lankard of Sacramento CA, six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren; three step-children, Bob (Rita) Brown of Bullhead City AZ, Bill (Sue Ann) Brown of Cornelius OR, Judy (Ralph) Lloyd of Pasadena CA, and eight step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Burt Brown, and her brother, Dale Harmon.
Funeral services will be at Allen Mortuary, Turlock, at 12:00pm on Saturday, November 26, 2011. Interment will be in the Denair Cemetery.  Please share your memories at www.allenmortuary.com.
