Elaine Hulteen, 94, of Turlock, passed away at St. Francis Assisted Care Center. Elaine was born in Nebraska to Paul and Edna Olson. The family moved to California when Elaine was young and she attended Turlock High School. She graduated from THS and Modesto Jr. College. She worked as a secretary for a local accountant until she met and married her husband, Lloyd Hulteen. He had come from Iowa and they began a poultry ranch first raising chickens and then turkeys. Elaine was a wonderful homemaker. She cooked, canned, crocheted, and was an excellent seamstress. 

Elaine worked in Pioneer Girls first at Beulah Covenant and then Monte Vista Chapel. She sang in the church choir and in a ladies’ trio at Monte Vista Chapel. Elaine was also a faithful PTA Mom at Hilmar Schools.

Elaine was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Hulteen in 2001 and by one brother Eugene Olson. She is survived by her two daughters Marlys (Kenneth) McKinzie of Turlock and Lori (Randy) Hopkins of Denair; two grandchildren: Shandra (Jeremy) Fagundes and Joel (Alexa) Hopkins, and one great, grandchild. 

Visitation will be at Allen Mortuary on Thursday, July 16th from 5 to 7 pm. Funeral Service will be at Allen Mortuary on Friday, July 17th at 1 pm. Burial will follow at Turlock Memorial Park.
