Frank Bettencourt Jr., 54, passed away surrounded by family at his home in Kuna, Idaho on Oct. 27 after a two-year battle against prostate cancer. 

Frank was born in Patterson and raised in the Turlock area.  A lifelong dairyman, his roots in the industry took hold on the family dairy before that vocation led him to Idaho where he devoted his life to dairy farming, his wife, and his five children.  Frank’s connection to agriculture was fostered by his membership in the Mt. View 4-H Club and Turlock FFA.  He was a graduate of Turlock High class of 1974. 

Frank leaves his wife of 34 years, Alette; daughters, Michelle, Alissa, Anna and Katie; son, Robert and his wife, Amanda, and their two children, Kenna and Kasen, all of Idaho.  Frank also leaves his parents, Frank and Laura Bettencourt; and brothers, Mike and Chris, all of Ceres; and his brother, Patrick of Turlock.

A memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6 at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 2602 S. Walnut Rd., Turlock.

A vigil and funeral Mass were held on Sunday, Oct. 31 and Monday, Nov. 1 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Melba, Idaho.
