Frank Zubeldia Jr., 87, of Turlock passed away peacefully at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House on Jan. 6, 2011.

Frank was born in Fresno and grew up on a sheep ranch in Huron.  He married Rosemarie Rocha of Lemoore in 1950, and relocated to Riverdale.  He continued the family tradition of sheep ranching for 35 years until his retirement in 1985.  In 1996, they moved to Turlock to be close to family.

Frank loved the outdoors and was an avid sportsman, enjoying hunting and fishing.  He cherished the many hours spent with his grandchildren.  Frank was always ready for a lively game of pool with his many friends.  His great sense of humor and love for his family and friends will always be remembered. 

Mr. Zubeldia was a member of the California Woolgrowers Assn. and Fresno Basque Club.

He is survived by his wife, Rosemarie Zubeldia; son, Frank A. Zubeldia III; and daughter, Francine DiCiano (Brian).  He also leaves sister, Juanita Errotabere; and grandchildren, Breanne and Dominic DiCiano.  He was preceded in death by sister, Mary Urbelz.

Private interment services at Holy Cross Cemetery in Fresno will take place at a later date, followed by a private family celebration of life.
