Iva Parreira Chibante, 73, of Hilmar, died Nov. 3. She was a homemaker for 52 years and a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church of Hilmar, S.P.R.S.I.  Council 151 of Stevinson, and P.F.S.A. Council 151 of Hilmar. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and knitting.

She is survived by her husband, Jose A. Chibante of Hilmar; daughter-in-law, Irene Chibante-Avila and her husband, Joe of Hilmar; sister, Nelsa Pedro and her husband, Jose of Escalon; several nieces and nephews; and grandson, Joe Ivo Chibante  Jr. of Turlock.

She was preceded in death by her son, Joe Ivo Chibante on July 24, 1994.

Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 7 and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 8 at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Funeral Chapel. A Rosary/Mass combined service will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 8 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 20263 American Ave., Hilmar. Burial will be at Bellevue Memorial Park, 1240 West G. St., Ontario.
