Jessie Bertholf, 89, of Turlock, died peacefully on December 6, 2014 at Paramount Court Senior Living where she resided for the past 3+ years.

Jessie was the first of six children born to Lawrence and Ora Seay in Eufala, Oklahoma.  There she attended elementary school before her family moved to California in the 1930’s where she finished her education at Taft High School.

She was blessed to have married the love of her life, Winston “Joe” Bertholf, in 1941 and they moved to Turlock in 1949.

Jessie was never afraid of hard work, and inspired others with her incredible work ethic.  She helped out on the family farm, while working as a housekeeper at the same time.  She also worked at Puccinelli Packing Co., and then later at F.W. Woolworth’s for more than 20 years until she retired in 1985.

Jessie loved the Lord with all her heart, and loved to be around children, especially her grandkids and great grandkids.  She enjoyed cooking and baking for her loved ones, as well as sewing, playing dominoes and spending time with her family.  Jessie was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Jessie is survived by her daughter Linda (Steve) LaFollette of Turlock, CA; son Bruce Bertholf (Linda Grant) of Sonora, CA; brother Eual (Geneva) Seay of Bakersfield, CA; sister-in-law Arlene Seay of Bakersfield, CA; grandson Chad (Janelle) LaFollette of Turlock, CA; granddaughter Shelly (Jeff) Anderson of Allen, TX; great grandchildren Miranda, Collin, Cameron, Brooklynn and Blake.

Jessie is preceded in death by her beloved husband; her parents; one brother and three sisters.

Visitation will be held at Allen Mortuary, 247 N Broadway, Turlock on Thursday, December 18th from 3:00-700p.m.

Funeral service will be held at the same location on Friday, December 19th at 10:00a.m. Burial will follow at Turlock Memorial Park.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Paramount Court Senior Living for their loving care and support over the past three years.  Please share your memories at
