John Nunes Belo, 59, of Livingston, died Saturday in Modesto. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Funeral Chapel. A combined rosary/mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 20 at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, 2602 S. Walnut Ave., Turlock. Burial will be at Turlock Memorial Park.
John was a farmer for 43 years and a member of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church of Turlock, Livingston Farmers and Blue Diamond Growers. He enjoyed farming and fishing. He was a hard worker and he loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.
He is survived by his Zelia Belo of Livingston; sons, John Nunes Belo Jr. of Newman and Steve Manuel Belo of Hilmar; daughter, Rosemary Faustino Alves of Newman; mother, Rosa Amaral Belo of Atwater; brothers, Elmiro Belo of Escalon and Emanuel Belo of Atwater; sister, Manuela Belo of Atwater; and grandchildren, Alexis Alves, Blake Alves, Addilyn Belo and Lucas Belo.
Services are under the direction of Whitehurst, Norton & Dias.
