Jose Guilhermino Teixeira, 85, of Turlock died Nov. 29 in Turlock. He was born in 1925 in Santo Antao, Topo, Sao Jorge, Azores.

Jose was a milker for 50 years and a member of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church of Turlock and Our Lady of Lourdes of Santo Antao. He played music for 25 years. He enjoyed gardening, wood work, winemaking and he loved to be with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Maria do Carmo Teixeira of Turlock; son, Rick Teixeira and his wife, Delia of San Leandro; sisters, Maria Cecilia Bettencourt  of Santa Antao, Sao Jorge and Maria Natalia Silveira of Sauto Antao, Topo, Sao Jorge; and granddaughters, Amalia Rose Teixeira and Caelan Serfina Teixeira of San Leandro.

Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 5 at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Funeral Chapel. A Rosary will be held at 8 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 5 at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church. A Mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 6 at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, 2602 S. Walnut Ave., Turlock. Burial will be at Patterson District Cemetery.
