Joseph John Medeiros was born on March 19, 1921, in Sao Miguel, Azores and passed away on April 16, 2010 in Delhi, Calif.
During his life, he was a secretary, treasurer and in the culinary industry. He was a member of the Bartenders Local Union #823 of Hayward for 40 years, and served as president with his last position being secretary/treasurer. He also was previously a business agent. He enjoyed horse racing, baseball, politics, bowling and dancing.
He is survived by sons, Curtis Medeiros of Manteca, John Medeiros of Copper, Joseph C. Medeiros of Manteca, Mark Medeiros of Council Bluff, Iowa, Anthony Medeiros of San Diego and Joseph Medeiros II of Delhi; daughters, Maryann Rapolla and Dawn Medeiros-Azevedo, both of Delhi, and Jolene Medeiros of Turlock; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
A graveside service is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Monday, April 26 at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Gustine.
