BAPTISTA-mABEL
Mabel Baptista was born in Gilroy to Everett and Velma Beghtel. At age 2, her parents did not survive an automobile accident and Mabel moved to Waterford. She graduated from Hughson High School where she met the love of her life, Roy Baptista. They were married in 1949, and lived happily until Roy passed on March 10, 1986.
No matter where she worked, she touched the lives of every one. Over the years she worked at Community Hospital, Emanuel Hospital, Smith Chevrolet, A Special Place and Federal Land Bank. She was active in many organizations with her children and grandchildren. She was a 4-H Community and Project leader and a THS Ag Advisory Committee member. She was presented the Turlock FFA Honorary Chapter Farmer Award.
Mabel loved being with her family and friends. Whether you knew her as Mom, Grammie, Auntie Mabel or Blondie, she brought the same kindness, generosity and happiness into the lives of all those around her.
