Malcolm Eddy, 89, died at his home in Turlock.  He was born in Hamadan, Iran and spent 35 years working as an accountant for the National Iranian Oil Co.  In 1977, he and his family emigrated to the U.S., settling in Turlock.  Here he worked as an instructional aide for TUSD for 15 years, and he also worked at Stanislaus County Fairgrounds for 25 years.

Malcolm was an avid reader and was fluent in five languages, three of which he could read and write.  He liked to fish and play backgammon, and he served as master of ceremonies at many local events.

He was a member of St. John’s Assyrian Presbyterian Church, and a life member of the Assyrian American Civic Club.  For many years he served as treasurer for both.

Mr. Eddy is survived by his wife, Clarice; daughters, Sarafina Eddy, Sayonara Dawoodtabar and Diana Lachin; and sons, George and Sargon Eddy.  He also leaves his mother-in-law, Sharmiran Eliasnia; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 14 at St. John’s Assyrian Presbyterian Church, 450 S. Palm St., Turlock.  Interment will follow at Turlock Memorial Park.
