Maria Trindade Nunes, 79, of Atwater, died Tuesday. She was born in 1931 in Corvo, Azores. She was a homemaker for 54 years and a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church of Atwater. 

She is survived by her husband, Daniel Batista Nunes of Atwater; son, James A. Nunes of Los Banos; daughters, Maria Elizabeth Teixeira and Julie M. Cabrito, both of Atwater; four grandchildren; and one great grandchild. 

Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 8 pm. on Sunday, May 1 and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, May 2 at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias in Turlock. Rosary/Vigil will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, May 2 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 1799 Winton Way, Atwater. A Mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 3 at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Burial will be at Turlock Memorial Park.
