Merete Clardy was born and raised in Odense, Denmark. She moved to Bakersfield in 1958, before settling in Turlock in 1981. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and worked for Budget Self Storage for 23 years. Merete enjoyed quilting, knitting, painting and raising her grandkids. God and family were her life.

She is survived by her husband, Harvey Clardy; mother, Kirsten Schiller; children, Chris Clardy, Lanette Sullivan and Wanda Hodge, all of Turlock; siblings, Vibeke Anderson, Hanna Davis and Maria Berian; 11 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Terrie Clardy; and father, Terje Schiller.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 11 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
