Born February 9, 1959, in Colorado Springs, CO, to LaMonte and Joselyn Thornburg, Russell grew up in Turlock, CA, attending Julien Elementary School, Brown Middle School and Turlock High School.

He began working at Richard & Chambers Stationary Store in 1976, a year before graduating from Turlock High School. Russell went on to attend California State University, Stanislaus, graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Information Systems in May, 1998. Immediately after graduation, Russell Thornburg began applying his expertise in computer programming, working for MTC Distributing in Modesto until his recent illness and passing.

Russell was the proud father of daughter Brittany, who currently lives in New York City, and son Cameron, who resides in Oceano, CA. He is also survived by his beloved wife of ten years, Jialin Thornburg, his parents, LaMonte and Joselyn, and his brother, Michael.

Russell passed on April 27, 2018, after battling a stroke and heart problems that began in the Fall of 2017.  Russell’s family and friends rejoice in the gift of his life, and the Lord’s decision to take him Home.
