Atwater

Stephen James Silva, a longtime Atwater resident, passed away Saturday, November 26, 2011 in Modesto, CA. Stephen was born July 18, 1955 in Turlock to Jane and Anthony Silva. He grew up in Livingston and graduated from Livingston High School where he was an award winning football player. Steve worked for Foster Farms for 36 years as a supervisor in the PC Plant. In 1980 Stephen married Maria Soares and they enjoyed 31 years together. He loved a good game of golf and hunting trips with his brother and cousins.
Stephen is survived by his loving wife, Maria and his children Stephen "Stevie" Silva of Merced, Tammy Marie Silva, Paul Garcia (Kristina) and Bernadette Heck (Jason) all of Atwater. Also surviving are his 13 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and his brothers Michael Silva and Richard Silva (Virginia) both of Atwater.
Visitation will be held on Thurs, Dec 1, 2011 from 3-5pm at Wilson Family Funeral Chapel, Atwater. A recitation of the holy rosary will take place on Thurs at 6pm at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Atwater. Funeral Mass will be said on Friday, Dec 2, 2011 at 9:30am also at St. Anthony Church. Burial will follow at Winton District Cemetery.
