Wesley Ernest Browning was born on June 3, 1916 to proud parents Tom and Lou Browning. He was one of eight brothers and three sisters.
He worked in the Texas CCC Camps. He proudly served in WW II. When he returned home he married Bernice Lillian Browning. They had five children, four boys and one girl.
Wesley moved his family to Porterville in the 1940s, and they lived there 20 years until moving to Modesto, where he lived for 40 years.
Wesley provided for his family as a self-taught butcher, a foreman on a cattle ranch for John Wayne, and for over 30 years he worked in the fruit producing business. 
He is survived by his son, Wesley L. Browning of Kansas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Lillian Browning; daughter, Brenda Lee Browning; and sons, Lonnie Thomas, Ronald Edward and Ricky Dean Browning. 
He was blessed by 16 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 9 at Ceres Memorial Park.
