Cal State Stanislaus sophomore right-hander Brittani Weatherford has been named the California Collegiate Athletic Association Softball Pitcher of the Week after earning three wins and a save in a four-game sweep over Cal State East Bay last weekend.

In 16 2/3 innings, the Lincoln High (Stockton) graduate allowed nine hits, walked four and struck out 13 without giving up a run.

Weatherford opened the series by limiting the Pioneers to just three hits and striking out six in a complete-game effort on Friday. She came on in relief in the nightcap and picked up a save after allowing one hit and striking out one in an inning of work.

Weatherford returned to the circle on Saturday, started the first game of the doubleheader and earned the win after working six innings, allowing three hits, walking one and striking out four. She made another relief appearance in the series finale and secured a win after pitching 2 2/3 innings, yielding two hits, three walks and striking out two.

Cal State Stanislaus is next in action on Friday when it begins a four-game series with Sonoma State in Turlock.
