Since his selection in the 2009 NFL Draft, Tom Brandstater has put on various team uniforms.

On Saturday, the former Turlock High and Fresno State standout quarterback was picked up by the Dallas Cowboys after being waived by the Miami Dolphins the previous day. Brandstater, who was chosen by the Denver Broncos in the sixth round in 2009, is joining his fourth team in three seasons. He has also been a member of the Indianapolis Colts.

The 26-year-old Brandstater joins the Cowboys after they cut ties with quarterback Zack Eskridge. His transaction coincides with the pickup of wide receiver Dominique Edison, which also happened Saturday.

After having a successful career at Turlock, Brandstater later became the Fresno State quarterback. His most memorable season was in 2007, when he led the Bulldogs to a 9-4 record, highlighted by his winning of the MVP award in Fresno State’s win over Georgia Tech in the Humanitarian Bowl.

At Fresno State, Brandstater played alongside running back Anthony Harding, a Pitman High graduate.
