Fire broke out in a pile of railroad ties stacked along tracks on South Golden State Boulevard in on the afternoon of April 29, 2020. Located next to a homeless tent encampment, the fire's cause has yet to be determined.

An estimated 200 protesters gathered along Geer Road in Turlock on the morning of May 9, 2020 to rally against the the current shelter-in-place orders and encourage local business owners to open their doors.
