The Turlock Concert Association is helping highlight a great American art form by bringing jazz musician Jesse Lynch to town.
The Jesse Lynch Trio will perform Jesse Lynch Jazz 101, a virtuosic, multimedia tour of jazz through the ages at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Turlock Community Theatre.
Jazz 101 was created by the New York-based jazz artist Lynch. Pianist, composer, arranger and educator, Lynch has applied his wide-ranging skills to a new multimedia concert production chronicling the history of jazz. Repertoire spans New Orleans classics through Lynch’s own compositions. Lynch is accompanied by fellow New York jazz aces Joe Michaels on bass and Matt Smallcomb on drums. Each member has a formidable bio typical of the new wave of jazz instrumentalists - classical training with academic and professional connections to traditional jazz, funk, pop and world music. Lynch has toured nationally with Daniel Rodriguez and “The American Tenors.” The Trio’s first album, “Intuition,” was released in 2009.
The association will also sponsor a student outreach performance by the Jesse Lynch Trio as part of their ongoing commitment to support arts education in the community.
Single tickets for this event are $25, $15/students. For tickets call Linda Posegate at 668-1456 or Eric Julien at 667-5874, or visit www.turlockconcert.org.
