A man was arrested Sunday after he was caught inside Turlock Junior High School attempting to access a pornography website on a school computer.

Hector Vasquez, 22, was booked into Stanislaus County Jail on a charge of burglary for the break-in at Turlock Junior High School, according to Stanislaus County Superior Court records.

Around 1:45 p.m. Sunday an information technician working at the Turlock Unified School District offices received an alert stating someone was trying to gain access to a blocked pornography site from a computer located in a classroom at the junior high campus at 3951 N. Walnut Road., said Turlock Police spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis.

The technician went to the school and checked in the classroom, which is where he found Vasquez hiding behind a teacher’s desk, Lewis said. The police department was contacted and Vasquez was taken into custody without incident.

It’s not known how Vasquez gained entry into the classroom, because there were no obvious signs of a break-in, such as a pried door or broken glass, Lewis said. Vasquez was found in possession of a set of keys that opened the doors to other classrooms and had been taken from the teacher’s desk, Lewis said.
