Turlock High softball star Abby Maxwell and Pitman High head coach Michelle Fuller took home major honors after the Central California Athletic League announced its postseason honors last month.
Maxwell, a senior standout for the Bulldogs, was named CCAL Offensive Player of the Year. Fuller, meanwhile, took home Coach of the Year honors.
Maxwell hit .515 (34 for 66) with a whopping 1.438 OPS as she walked 14 times and collected 12 extra base hits, including four home runs. She drove in 37 runs, and while on the basepaths, stole four bases and scored 21 runs as the Bulldogs finished 11-4 against conference opponents and tied with Gregori for second place behind champion Enochs (12-3).
The Pride finished 8-7 in league play and 14-12 overall in Fuller’s first year at the helm. The record against conference opponents was a five-win improvement from a season ago.
The other major award winners were Enochs senior Lilian Camarena (Most Valuable Player), Enochs junior Kaylee Ruiz (Pitcher of the Year) and Gregori senior Audrey Pacheco (Defensive Player of the Year).
Named to the All-CCAL First Team from Turlock were sophomores Brooke de la Motte and Audrey Bailey, as well as junior Rylee Murphy, and Pitman freshman Juliet Jimenez.
Senior Ivy Butler and sophomore Kaylee Fuller of Pitman joined junior Chloe Chapman and sophomore Madelyn Robison as Second Team selections.
