Two arrested after vehicle pursuit

A fight reported at a Turlock bar led to a vehicle pursuit that ended with a crash and the arrest of two men.

The incident began around 2:30 a.m. Friday when the Turlock Police Department received a call of a fight at the Las Iguanas Nightclub at 132 S. First Street. As officers arrived they saw a black Lexus speeding away from the area. Officers gave chase and tried to stop it, but the driver ignored the officers and kept driving.

California State University, Stanislaus Police officers joined the pursuit but lost track of the vehicle in the area of F Street and Golden State Boulevard.

A Stanislaus County Sheriff’s deputy spotted the vehicle crashed into a home in the Berkeley and  Marshall neighborhood.

Inside the vehicle officers locate Alexander Ramirez, who was wanted on two warrants. A K9 unit is brought in and tracks down a second suspect, identified as Edgar Alvarez, in the area of Palm Street and Marshall. He was identified as the driver and charged with resisting arrest, hit and run, and felony evading.
