Art tour returns to downtown Turlock

The Art Around Town event is returning to downtown Turlock on Thursday with six venues offering exhibits to view.

“This event brings attention to what’s going on in art, culture, shopping and dining in Turlock’s vibrant downtown district,” said Lisa McDermott, director of the Carnegie Arts Center, which is one of the founding businesses on the art walk.
Attendees of the art walk may stroll between several galleries and businesses located on and near Main Street. All will have refreshments along with art, antiques, and locally handcrafted items for viewing and for sale.
Gallery Finesse will feature Modernist paintings and sculpture from the mid-20th Century along with its usual offerings of art and antiques from this period and earlier.
The Carnegie Arts Center will be highlight the exhibition “Pacific Currents,” which includes 40 regional artists whose work has been inspired by Asian art or culture.

Other venues on the art walk will be: Art Space on Main, 135 W. Main St.; Rustic Roots, 231 E. Main St.; The Gallery Finesse, 128 N. Center St.; Farm House, 311 E. Main St.; and Colossal Tattoo, 429 E. Main St.
