The watercolor “Shimmering Shoal” by Dan Petersen is on exhibit at the Carnegie Arts Center.

The Carnegie Arts Center will host their first Family Friday event of the new year on Jan. 25, with an activity revolving around the new exhibition “Valley Focus: Cheryl Barnett and Dan Petersen.”

Attendees at the free event will be drawing inspiration from the works of the two artists to create their own watercolor masterpieces. The event will be from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Carnegie Arts Center. It’s free thanks to the sponsorship of Off Center Thrift and Gift.

“Valley Focus” has become an annual exhibit that highlights the works of local artists. This year’s exhibit features bronze sculptures by Barnett and watercolors by Petersen. The exhibit will run through March 17.
