County releases updated transportation guide

For the first time in six years, Stanislaus County has updated its Transportation Guide.

The document, available at local libraries, chambers of commerce, and some government offices, offers a reference manual to all of the public and private transportation available in Stanislaus County, from bikeways to airports and carpools. By using the document, individuals can plot a route anywhere in the county – and beyond, to neighboring San Joaquin and Merced counties and even the Bay Area.

More than just a collection of maps, the book offers contact information for public and private transportation providers across the county. A destination section offers information about area shopping center, education institutions, and recreational facilities. A more detailed general information section helps riders learn where to buy tickets, how to navigate the rules and regulations of the various bus systems, and in-depth route guides.

All content in the guide is available in both English and Spanish. The guide was produced using local transportation funds, intended for regional transit projects.

Agencies may request a copy of the guide by calling 1-800-688-1884 and leaving a message, or by leaving a comment at www.srt.org
