Pollinator Festival
The 2025 Modesto Pollinator Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the La Loma Native Garden, located at the corner of Phoenix and Encina avenues.

Pollinator Festival: The 2025 Modesto Pollinator Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the La Loma Native Garden, located at the corner of Phoenix and Encina avenues. The event will feature a children’s costume pollinator parade, beehive demonstration, free native wildflower seeds, games, face painting and food trucks.

Wellness Art Club: The Carnegie Arts Center will host the Wellness Art Club from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Led by recreational therapist Jesse Hunt, each meeting will include artmaking as a coping skill and lifestyle lessons to support positive mental health. Ripon Brewfest: American Legion Post #190 will host a Brewfest from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Ripon Community Center, 334 4th St., Ripon. The event will feature over 30 beers/cider/seltzers, along with food trucks. Tickets are $35 each and can be purchased at americanlegionriponca.com.

Classic Car Show: The Knights Ferry Classic Car Show will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday on Main Street in Knights Ferry. There is free admission and there will also be live music and food vendors. To register a car or truck, visit: knightsferrycommunityclub.com.

Youth Talent Showcase: Five local groups — VMI-rock band, The Dance Academy, Thomas Downey High School Knights Chorus, the Yes Academy and Ballet Folkorico — will be performing at 3 p.m. Sunday at The State Theatre in downtown Modesto. The concert will benefit the Homemaker Program, which provides housekeeping services to deserving senior citizens. For tickets, visit thestate.org. 


Starting summer off with a splash
Columbia Pool
Local kids dive into the newly renovated Columbia Pool during its grand reopening ceremony on May 17. The pool will be open for recreational swim starting next week (CANDY PADILLA/The Journal).
Families looking to beat the heat this summer season can cool off at the City of Turlock’s two aquatic playgrounds, or go for a dip in the newly renovated Columbia Pool.
