All Turlock Fire units responded at approximately 3 p.m. Sunday to a vegetation fire behind a residence in the 1200 block of S. Minaret St. Due to the location being right on the city/county line, Turlock Rural was also dispatched for a vegetation fire in the same area. When crews arrived on scene they found multiple acres of vegetation on fire, threatening an RV storage yard and multiple residents.
Crews from Turlock fire Department, Turlock Rural, Denair, Keys, Hughson, and Merced County fire departments assisted in extinguishing the fire.
In total, 7 acres burned along with the fence line to 4 residential properties. Crews were able to stop the fire before it spread to any structures.
The fire was brought under control within 30 minutes. There were no injuries.
