History of business: Joe and Patty Guichard  have been helping customers throughout Northern California find the perfect carpet since 1993.

Their family-owned business, Bigfoot Carpet, has five Valley locations: Merced, Salida, Lodi, Chico and its newest addition, Turlock. The Guichards opened the Turlock store two weeks ago at the former location of BB Prints It.

“With five stores, Bigfoot is able to offer the largest in-stock selection of flooring in the area,” said Patty.  “It is a family fun business that has always been about passing on the best value to the consumer.”

Bigfoot’s notoriety has been accomplished by its ability to buy merchandise by the truckload. The savings is then passed on to the customer, said Patty. The stores are also able to offer a wide variety of carpets to choose from.

Business Specialty: Bigfoot Carpet has a range of products from high end luxury to sensible flooring for rentals that include Shaw, Mohawk and Beaulieu brands.  The store also carries carpet from many smaller mills such as Tuftex, Barrett, Royalty, Engineered Floors and Best Buy.

“The employees will always provide their customers with their knowledge of the products, but most importantly a friendly service,” said Patty.

Bigfoot Carpet also offers free estimates to its customers and the licensed installers.  Flooring will be installed within 48 hours of purchase.
