The state’s thirst for rain has certainly been quenched recently, meaning that here in the Central Valley there are plenty of muddy floormats in the interiors of cars and trucks just waiting to be cleaned. Luckily, Cen Cal Detailing is here to help.
Owner Chris Karam began Cen Cal Detailing just four months ago, hoping to share his affinity for making vehicles shine with the local community. He has always had an interest in cars, he said, from building them to showing trucks in Las Vegas. Along with his passion for the vehicles themselves, Karam has also taken pride in keeping them clean throughout the years.
“I enjoy taking care of my stuff,” said Karam. “It’s fun seeing how much cleaning can do. I see the potential in any vehicle; someone might say a car looks really bad, but I see the potential. All it needs is time put into it.”
It’s his experience as a truck enthusiast that contributes to Cen Cal Detailing’s quality service, Karam added. His knowledge of lifted trucks ensures that every spot on the vehicle gets cleaned.
From basic washes to full body buffing, waxing and interior shampooing, Cen Cal Detailing can transform cars, boats, big rigs and more from filthy to spotless. Though he eventually hopes to open up his own shop, Karam’s business is also mobile, meaning he travels to his clients to detail their vehicles rather than having his clients come to him.
“You save time, gas and the headache,” he said. “You don’t have to stop what you’re doing and find a ride — you give me a call and I come do it.”
Karam has travelled as far as Merced and Salida to detail his clients’ cars, and tends to stay within 30 to 40 minutes of Turlock when providing his service. Pricing for Cen Cal Detailing varies on what services the client would like, but Karam has been known to negotiate prices with his customers so that both parties are happy.
At the end of the day, his clients’ happiness is all that matters.
“The best part is seeing their expression after I’m done detailing their car,” said Karam. “That’s what makes me happy, especially since it’s from my own work.”
