A private marketing company and a representative from the U.S. Army recruiter’s office lead a free online marketing seminar for local businesses hosted by the City of Turlock on Tuesday.

The City of Turlock is working to help its local businesses to maximize their online presence through a free seminar.

The seminar, which will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Public Safety Training Room, 240 N. Broadway in Turlock, is set to cover the importance of a user-friendly website, digital marketing and the fundamentals of social media business profiles.

“It’s a collaboration trying to engage some of our brick and mortar businesses to enhance their online presence,” said Maryn Pitt, assistant to the city manager for economic development.

A private marketing company and a representative from the U.S. Army recruiter’s office led the seminar on Tuesday.

Pitt said the City is planning to offer other business seminars and one in October will feature using social media to drive holiday business to storefronts and understanding Google analytics.
