Two Delhi motorcyclists out for an evening ride Monday collided with a trailer, killing one of the men, the California Highway patrol reported.

The deceased has been identified as John Delgado, 53, of Delhi by the Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office.

The accident was reported around 6 p.m. in the area of El Capitan Way, just east of Sycamore Avenue in Delhi.

Delgado and 54-year-old Alan Garren of Delhi were both driving Yamaha Roadstar motorcycles westbound on El Capitan Way, at an undetermined speed.

Also on El Capitan Way was a Dodge Ram with a trailer attached and being driven by Jared Alldrin, 21, of Delhi.

Alldrin had backed the vehicle out of the driveway and it was stopped with the truck and trailer blocking both lanes of El Capitan Way.

Both Delgado and Garren collided with the trailer and sustained major injuries. Delgado was rushed to Emanuel Medical Center, where he later died from the injuries he had sustained.

Garren was taken to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto with major injuries. His current condition is unknown.

Alldrin was not injured.

The collision remains under investigation, though alcohol does not appear to be a factor, according to the California Highway Patrol.
