The long-awaited Dickey’s Barbecue Pit will hold a grand opening celebration on Thursday, and the store is inviting the whole community to come join in for a finger-lickin’ good time.

“We are excited to be a part of Dickey’s Barbecue and their continued growth in California,” said local owner Rafael Armenta, Jr. “Dickey’s Barbecue offers quality food that locals will enjoy, plus we have free soft serve.”

The grand opening celebrations will run from Thursday until Saturday, with the first 50 dine-in customers receiving a gift card for up to $50. On Friday, customers are invited to enjoy a full day of merchandise giveaways, while Saturday’s celebration will include $2 pulled-pork barbecue sandwiches and the chance to receive a $500 gift card.

The new location is headed by business partners Rafael Armenta, Jr. and Martin Lopez, who together have combined experience of 20 years in the restaurant industry. While Turlock’s Dickey’s Barbecue Pit is the 42nd location to open in California, Armenta and Martin plan to open more locations in the future.

Founded by Travis Dickey, who had a goal of producing authentic slow-smoked barbecue, the Dallas-based family run barbecue franchise has been operating for over 70 years. Continuing to offer a quality selection of signature meats, home style sides, and tangy barbecue sauce, the franchise is dedicated to providing hearty barbecue meals as all their meats are slow-smoked on site in each restaurant.

The new Turlock Dickey’s Barbecue Pit is located at 3140 Countryside Dr. in the Monte Vista Crossings shopping center next to Jamba Juice.
