Journal welcomes new publisher

David A. Winegarden is the new publisher of the Turlock Journal.

 

He will also oversee publication of the Manteca Bulletin, Oakdale Leader, Ceres Courier, Escalon Times, Riverbank News and Ripon Bulletin.

 

Winegarden most recently was with the Omaha World-Herald Company in Nebraska where he was vice president of sales and marketing, following a three year stint as director of advertising there.

 

The Journal’s new publisher has an extensive newspaper and online background including 11 years at the Stockton Record.  At the Record, he was senior vice president of advertising and marketing, and director of advertising.

 

“We are very pleased to be back in California, and I am honored to work with this company," said Winegarden.   “I am certainly no stranger to the Central Valley and look forward to renewing ties and meeting many new people in the area.  Our customers can count on us to continue providing vital community news services in print, online and in other ways of the future.”

 

Winegarden's wife Cynthia, a San Joaquin County native, is a decorative painting contractor, and has been active in real estate, insurance and nonprofit management in years past. 

 

The couple’s daughter, Brittnea, is currently in college.
