Yonan’s Jewelers will be giving away a $1,000 scholarship at the Stanislaus County Fair in connection with this year’s empowHER Lounge, a series of workshops and other activities meant to inspire young girls to become great leaders in their community.

Girls ages 16-25 who are currently attending high school or college can enter to win by answering the following two questions in 500 words: 1.) How do you think young females of today can change the future roles of female leaders of tomorrow? and 2.) Why do you deserve this scholarship?

All submissions must be sent via email to yonansfloral@aol.com with the subject title “Scholarship” by June 28.

Once Yonan’s has made their decision on who the winner of the scholarship is, their name will be announced through social media and the winner will be presented with a check at the lounge sometime during the fair.

The Stanislaus County Fair will also be awarding scholarships to 4-H and FFA members at the end of the fair. Modesto Toyota has given out over $6,000 in scholarship money, which will be presented the final day of the fair, July 17, at 10 a.m.
