The Turlock Dems and Be the Change Turlock will host a No Kings rally from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday on the corner of Monte Vista Avenue and Countryside Drive.
For more than a year, millions of people have come together to reject the idea that power belongs to kings, billionaires, or politicians who believe they are above the people and the law.
In October 2025, nearly 700 protesters took part in a No Kings rally in Turlock, part of a nationwide effort that saw a reported 7 million protesters participate in more than 2,500 combined protests, following nationwide protests in June 2025.
“I think it’s important to exercise the right to free speech while we still have it and to let people know that what’s happening is not OK,” said Halli Hackanson at the October 2025 rally. “If we don’t say anything, no one is going to question it anymore. Also, combating things that are scary and unprecedented in a way that brings positivity and encourages peace I think is something that’s super important, and I’m very proud to be part of that.”
Unlike previous No Kings rallies, No Kings: Vote Early, is not purely a protest. Instead, on Saturday, it’s a day of nonpartisan voter participation. The event organizers are bringing Turlock and surrounding cities together to make a plan to vote early and ensure every eligible voter understands their options for how to vote and has the opportunity to make their voice heard.
Everyone is free to bring signs, and there will also be signs available. Be the Change Turlock is also collecting clothing and food for the local men’s shelter.
A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. Organizers expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree their values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to the rally.
