The Journal is challenging local businesses, nonprofit organizations, church groups, service clubs and families to purchase the Turlock Fire Fighters'  benefit T-shirts and support cancer research and awareness during the month of October. T-shirts can be purchased at the Emanuel Medical Center gift shop, at www.turlockfirefighters.org or at the Turlock Certified Farmers Market from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Friday in October.

The fire fighters will be at the Raley’s Shopping Center at 2900 Geer Road from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday selling the shirts.

Send photos of your organization wearing the Turlock Firefighters' pink T-shirts to: khacker@turlockjournal.com. Your photo will appear in the Journal and your group will be entered to win a $100 gift certificate from Sweet River Grill & Bar.

A week after the popular American Graffiti Festival wrapped up in Modesto, the senior citizens of Turlock continued to build a similar annual tradition of their own.
