The Carnegie Arts Center is preparing to showcase multiple unique homes and gardens in Turlock as part of the 2022 Art of Design: Home & Garden Tour. The tours, which take place on May 13 and 14, will be raising funds for the local arts center and its community events.

“Showcasing the arts of interior and landscape design falls squarely within our mission to be a resource for discovery and learning through the arts,” said Lisa McDermott, director of the Carnegie Arts Center.

Events will kick off on May13 with what the center is calling the Twilight Tour. Attendees will take an exclusive tour of a popular 1940s Turlock home while being treated to local cuisine and live music. While it will be the only home that will be on display on Friday, McDermott explained that this is a unique opportunity for those attending.

“This home is not included on the Saturday tour, so the opportunity is unique to our evening fundraiser,” she said. “The original five homes are fantastic examples of different styles, but when we were given the opportunity to highlight an additional home in a one-night fundraising event, we couldn’t resist.”

The price of the Twilight Tour is $90 for the general public and $75 for Carnegie Arts Center members. Friday’s events will run from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Saturday will take attendees on tours of five different local homes and gardens as part of the event’s main Art of Design: Home & Garden Tour. All five properties featured in Saturday’s tour are within 1.5 miles of one another, with each representing a different of style, function and sizes. All five properties will be open for self-guided tours, which guests can take in any order they choose.

Saturday’s tour lasts from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are $30 for the general public and $25 for members.

Tickets for both days can be bought at the Carnegie Arts Center, online at artofdesign2022.eventbrite.com, or by calling (209) 632-5761. The addresses of the featured homes will be provided once tickets are purchased.
